WordPress theme, Twenty Fourteen debuted
at the end of last year. Carrying a lot of expectations which is usual with
Twenty….based themes, it was launched soon after the release of WordPress 3.8 version.
Compared to its predecessors, it has a more user-friendly interface with a
responsive layout. With several brains contributing through WordPress community,
it has given more exposure to content writers and readers who wish to watch and
read text along with images.
Let’s see what I found after using this
theme on one of my portals:-
Theme
- Layout: Yes, it’s a magazine theme, more refined and carefully constructed
in form of boxes (at least six) for posts and images. So, in case you wish to
have text or wish to keep your audience hooked with some kind of knowledge-based
inputs, this theme is just perfect.
Custom
Design: You can custom design this theme on your blog as per requirement.
Choose the kind of color, font, front, background pattern and more. CSS option
is helpful too. But remember, you have to pay to include custom color, font of
your choice.
Widgets: Highlight
your work or connect with external application with widgets. There are three
widget areas to portray inputs on blog or website. For instance, “Send to
Readmill” to enable users to send ebook to their mobile or tablet. You can even
opt for one of the most used “Twenty
Fourteen Ephemera” which provides options for choosing the number of posts,
with the benefit of integrating image, video, audio, gallery etc. Use another
widget like “Blogs I Follow” on Primary
Sidebar or “Gallery” on Footer
Widget Area or some other widget on
Content Sidebar.
If you are looking to have WordPress
Twenty Fourteen on your website, I think, it will work best for writers who
like blogging very often. It is also useful for those readers who are hunting
for informative content. Swap between slider and grid to enhance appeal or
enjoy the responsive feel…WordPress Twenty Fourteen is all about this.
